The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad witnessed the discussion of a master’s thesis entitled (Creativity in the Experience of Updating the Master Plan of Tikrit City) by the researcher Younes Musleh Daher, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Karim Hassan Alwan. The research aimed to study the problems of performing urban, environmental and social functions according to the uses of its master plan, which prevent it from being a creative city at the planning level.
The researcher identified a set of effective planning indicators that affect the realization of creative city, represented by social, economic, urban and constructional sustainability dimensions after studying the master plan as a major outcome of urban planning and recognizing the items and importance of this plan.
As for the most important recommendations, they focused on raising the value of indicators to the standard limits for each indicator to contribute to making the city creative, and setting determinants for the proportions of land uses to be balanced in order to increase the ability of the city to respond to the creative planning approach.
