The center for urban and regional planning is a sedate scientific institution which is the only institution in Iraq and in the region when it was established on 1971. It is displinary except student from different background whether from engineers or humanitarian fields of study, and give the center an important role nowadays as organize the inclusive vision depending on the interactive of multiple sciences. After that some Arabic institution where established which followed the same scientific environment of our center.
During this long period of years 49 the center cope with technical and technological development in its fields. In 1994 the center open the first doctorate study in urban and regional study, and higher diploma in 2005 in addition to master degree study which start in 1973.
The center continuously provides important scientific researches and holds many national and .international .conferences and symposiums
