The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, along with a select group of faculty members, participated in the 10th International Scientific Conference on the Arba’een Pilgrimage. The conference, organized by the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Al-Karkh University of Science, and the Academic Scientific Council for the Arba’een Pilgrimage. The conference theme was “The Arba’een Pilgrimage: A Civilizational Message in the Age of Digital Transformation.” The President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul-Hassan Attia Al-Zughaibi, and his Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul-Razzaq Al-Hashemi, were also in attendance.
Alwan emphasized that the researchers contributed insightful scientific papers that enriched academic knowledge related to the Arba’een Pilgrimage in its tenth edition, particularly given the participation of more than 10 researchers from the Center. He also noted the largest international academic participation since the conference’s inception, which underscored the growing academic interest in studying the phenomenon of the Arba’een Pilgrimage. The University of Baghdad in general, and the Center for Urban and Regional Planning Graduate Studies in particular, seek to consolidate its active scientific presence in its participation in academic forums, within the framework of expanding the horizons of cooperation and academic communication, in order to ensure the exchange of experiences with major scientific and research institutions.
