Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, Dean of the Center for Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, participated in the expanded coordination meeting held by the Karbala Center for Studies and Research, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, to finalize preparations for the 10th International Scientific Conference on the Arba’een Pilgrimage. The meeting was attended by academic figures from the University of Al-Karkh, the Karbala Center for Studies and Research, and the University of Baghdad committee. Alwan noted that the meeting was also attended by the President of the University of Al-Karkh, Professor Dr. Jumaa Salman Jiyad, along with his Scientific Assistant, Professor Dr. Ihab Naji Abbas, and others, in addition to their accompanying delegation.
The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation to ensure the success of the conference, which will be chaired by the University of Al-Karkh for its tenth session this year. Alwan confirmed that the meeting addressed the scientific and organizational aspects of the conference, primarily the research themes, the mechanisms for managing the scientific sessions, the reception of Arab and international delegations, and the organization of participation by prominent international academic and scientific figures. This will enhance the international standing the conference has attained as one of the most prominent scientific conferences specializing in the Arba’een pilgrimage.
Attendees affirmed that the conference will witness broad participation from all Iraqi universities, in addition to Arab and international universities and academic institutions.
