Dr. Zahraa Emad, an assistant professor at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, participated as an external examiner for the projects of fifth-year students in the Urban Design Engineering Department at the College of Architectural Engineering, University of Technology.
Dr. Emad emphasized that the Urban Design Department projects showcased a diversity of approaches focused on developing urban environments and preserving heritage identity, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). She noted that the projects she discussed with the students demonstrated a high level of creativity and urban awareness, as well as their ability to offer realistic and sustainable design solutions that meet the requirements of urban development in Iraq.
This participation by the Center of Urban and Regional Planning stems from the principle of scientific cooperation between Iraqi universities and all relevant institutions to enhance the academic level of university students.
