The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad held a training workshop entitled “APA Styles in Scientific Research Writing.” The workshop was presented by Dr. Shrouq Aboudi Ali, a faculty member at the center, and attended by professors, staff, and students.
The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with the methodology of research writing, starting with the writing of a research paper as an academic piece. This process involves analysis, discussion, and interpretation, relying on observations from various sources to document knowledge and writing styles. The workshop emphasized that writing in English requires stylistic diversity to effectively convey information. Dr. Ali also stressed that research documentation methods are fundamentally based on citation, its requirements, and the permissible word count for quotations in research papers.
