Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, Dean of the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies, representing the Presidency of the University of Baghdad, participated in the central celebration of the births of the blessed Sha’ban luminaries, organized by the General Secretariat of the Holy Kadhimiya Shrine in the courtyard of the shrine. The event was attended by the Secretary-General of the Holy Kadhimiya Shrine, members of the Board of Directors, representatives of other holy shrines, a number of religious and social figures, and a large gathering of pilgrims visiting the shrines of Imam al-Jawad and Imam al-Kadhim (peace be upon them).
Dr. Alwan emphasized that the celebration included speeches, religious hymns, and chants expressing love for the noble family of the Prophet (peace be upon them), commemorating the births of men who were among history’s greatest figures and Islam’s heroes. These men are descendants of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the first of whom was their master, the martyr Imam Hussein ibn Ali. Others included Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, known for his courage and selflessness; Ali ibn al-Hussein, the master of worshippers and adornment of the worshippers, known for his piety and beauty; and his brother, Ali al-Akbar, the one who resembled the Prophet (peace be upon them all).
Peace be upon them all. The university participates in all religious and national forums that reinforce the principles of belonging and the established values that connect the individual to his land and community, and promote the spirit of solidarity among members of society, and reject sedition and fanaticism in all its forms.
