The Media and Government Communication Unit at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad held a workshop entitled “The Holy Quran and Law.” Presented by Assistant Lecturer Haider Adnan Sadiq, Head of the Legal Division at the Center, the workshop aimed to highlight legal rulings within the framework of the Holy Quran, exploring the principles and legal provisions derived from it and their impact on society.

The workshop discussed the relationship between law and the Holy Quran, examining how the Quran laid the foundations for legislation in the constitutions of nations worldwide. It also addressed the characteristics of the Holy Quran and the concepts and principles it contains, as well as its implications for regulating legal and social life through specific crimes and their punishments, all aimed at organizing family life.

Furthermore, the workshop addressed Quranic legislation concerning marriage, divorce, and various types of inheritance. This opened the floor for discussion among the attendees, broadening the scope of the workshop and fostering an exchange of opinions through references to the Holy Quran and authentic Hadith.
