The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad conducted an examination for its Master’s students in the “Planning Studio” course. Students presented their projects and plans related to the development of several areas, based on scientific visions and concepts connected to planning, design, and solutions to the crises of overpopulation and informal settlements, as well as traffic congestion. These solutions were developed in accordance with the plans for the study area, the social environment, and other aspects that reflect the Center’s work as a theoretical solution to a contemporary problem.

The Center’s professors, divided into four examination committees, discussed with the Master’s students the feasibility of their studies (projects), the means to ensure their success if implemented, and their potential impact amidst the noise of existing infrastructure and complex, diverse communities.

It is worth noting that the students’ projects varied, encompassing neighborhoods and districts in Baghdad and other governorates. Their research was based on the findings of their preparatory studies conducted prior to beginning their Master’s thesis projects.
