The Center Holds the first Preparatory Meeting for the Tenth Edition of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage Conference
The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies held the first meeting of its working group for the 10th Arbaeen Pilgrimage Conference. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the Center, Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, and included faculty members from the College of Science: Assistant Professor Dr. Najah Abdul Hassan, Lecturer Dr. Hassan Jaber Al-Ata, and Lecturer Dr. Khalid Hussein, as well as Professor Dr. Faisal Ghazi from the College of Artificial Intelligence.
Alwan emphasized that the meeting aimed to prepare for the 10th International Scientific Conference on the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, scheduled to begin in August 2026. This will involve the participation of professors from the University of Baghdad, in coordination with the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein. The meeting focused on presenting the conference program and recommendations regarding participation and publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Additionally, a photo exhibition by the university’s Student Activities Department, depicting the life and enduring legacy of Imam Hussein, was planned. This meeting represents the culmination of upcoming meetings to prepare and finalize the research papers of university professors for the conference, in coordination with the Karbala Center and the University of Baghdad, to contribute to this scientific event, alongside several institutions from both the public and private sectors.
The importance of the conference stems from its status as an annual event that has become a landmark during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, and the university’s affiliates will play a leading role in making its activities a success.
