The Center of Urban and Regional Planning Graduate Studies at the University of Baghdad received a delegation from the General Directorate of Traffic to discuss the Center’s participation in the First Scientific Forum on Reducing Traffic Accidents. Representatives from the Traffic Training Center of the General Directorate of Traffic met with the Center’s faculty and staff in a workshop organized by the Center’s Dean to discuss the Center’s role in the forum and the nature of their research contributions aimed at developing scientific and practical solutions to reduce accidents.

The Center for Urban and Regional Planning will be represented at the forum, scheduled for December 22, 2025, at the Babylon Hotel, by Professor Dr. Areej Al-Rawi and Professor Dr. Nada Mohammed, both specialists in transportation planning. They will discuss traffic accidents and propose scientific solutions to mitigate them in light of Baghdad’s population growth and the increasing number of vehicles.
