The Media and Government Communication Unit at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies, University of Baghdad, held a seminar entitled “Voting Procedures: Distribution of Voter Cards,” in cooperation with the Independent High Electoral Commission. The seminar was attended by a select group of the center’s professors, staff, and graduate students.

The seminar aimed to raise electoral awareness among various segments of society and encourage broad participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Mr. Karrar Jalal Karim, the representative of the Independent High Electoral Commission, addressed several important topics related to the parliamentary elections scheduled for November 11, 2025. He also discussed the procedures for general and special voting, the distribution of voter cards, the counting and sorting process, and the transmission of data and information via electronic media on election day.

Furthermore, the Commission’s representative provided a detailed explanation of the regulations governing the monitoring of the electoral process by representatives of political entities and local and international civil society organizations. He also outlined the level of transparency the Commission provides to the media and other stakeholders in the electoral process.
