The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, and a group of professors from the Center, participated in a conference held by the Babylon Investment Commission to designate the province as the Industrial Capital of Iraq.

Alwan stated that the Chairman of the Babylon Investment Commission, Engineer Raad John Al-Makhzoumi, handed over the Babylon as Iraq’s Industrial Capital file to Babylon Governor Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi after its completion by the Commission. He explained that this project will advance the province by providing job opportunities, eliminating unemployment, and employing graduates. It will also provide services for industrial projects, which will contribute to the province’s economic growth in particular, supporting Iraqi industries and enhancing economic security.

It is worth noting that the Governor of Babylon will soon submit the Babylon file to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani for official approval.
