Dr. Enas Diaa Hadi, a lecturer at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, received the International Creativity Medal for her participation in the Sixth International Scientific Conference on Creativity and Innovation, sponsored by the Prime Minister. The conference was held under the theme “Creativity Builds Homelands,” in cooperation with Al-Mashreq University, Hilla University, and Kut University. A select group of professors and academics from Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Syria, and Lebanon, as well as Iraqi universities.

Dr. Hadi’s participation was represented by her research titled “Experiences and Indicators – From Green Education to the Sustainable Green City.” Her research aimed to develop realistic indicators that can be applied to our cities, leading to sustainable green cities by applying the principles of green education. The theoretical aspect relied on the basic concepts, principles, tools, and global experiences of green education, while the practical aspect relied on a questionnaire designed for city experts to verify the feasibility of applying green education indicators to achieve sustainable green cities. In her research, Hadi concluded that it is important to plan cities with sustainable green structures after creating a social fabric with a green culture, environmental awareness, and skills that facilitate the achievement of sustainable green cities.

This is because sustainability encompasses several dimensions: resource conservation, renewable and reusable capacity, reducing consumption and depletion, and adopting environmentally friendly materials after recycling available resources to ensure reduced consumption and reduced environmental pollution. The conference covered various topics, including a number of academic scientific and humanities research papers across all disciplines. It also featured an exhibition of patents, artificial intelligence, and industrial models for scientists, inventors, and creative researchers across all disciplines. Fine arts exhibitions spanned all artistic disciplines, among others, were also featured throughout the conference.
