The Women’s Affairs Unit at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad organized a celebration to mark International Women’s Day and Iraqi Women’s National Day. The celebration was attended by the Dean of the Center, Professor Dr. Karim Hassan Alwan, along with the Center’s faculty and staff, as well as its graduate students. The Dean of the Center opened the celebration with a speech in which he praised the role of women at various levels, focusing on their educational role and their assumption of numerous positions after proving their administrative competence. He also highlighted their outstanding role in the family, including raising children and fulfilling household duties.
For her part, Assistant Professor Fatima Khalil, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Center, congratulated women around the world, Iraqi women, and the Center’s students on their international and national days, wishing them success and fulfillment despite the hustle and bustle of life and the demands of society. The Dean presented letters of thanks and appreciation to the Center’s teaching and administrative staff, appreciating their pioneering role, while flowers were presented to the Center’s students, wishing them success and excellence.
