The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad discussed a master’s thesis entitled (Activating social indicators of place-making in the city) by the student Kunooz Talib Hamidi, and supervised by Professor Dr. Amer Shaker Khudair.
The research aimed to identify the effective social dimensions and indicators in the concept of place-making. The research problem was represented by the lack of knowledge of the mechanisms for activating the social indicators of the concept of place making in the city of Baghdad.
The researcher established mechanisms that activate social indicators to achieve a high quality of life and well-being in the study area. Therefore, the researcher recommends the necessity of enhancing communication, social interaction, and a sense of belonging to strengthen the social bond, which is considered a vital matter for promoting social integration.
