The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad organized a training workshop entitled (Occupational Safety and Civil Defense), under the supervision of the Civil Defense Unit at the Center.
The workshop, which was presented by Ammar Ghazi from the Civil Defense Division in the Follow-up Department at the University of Baghdad, dealt with the definition of types of extinguishers and their uses, such as powder, gas, and foam. The workshop touched on the mechanism of placing fire extinguishers in their appropriate places, as well as their storage, validity period, and effectiveness.
Some practical applications were made on the use of fire extinguishers, highlighting their collateral damage according to the type of fire caused by electrical or gas contact, or as a result of the combustion of an oil derivative such as gasoline and others.
It is noteworthy that the workshop was organized based on the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the recommendations of the Presidency of the University of Baghdad on civil protection in conjunction with the rise in temperatures.
