Professor Dr. Nada Khalifa, a faculty member at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies, served as a member of the doctoral dissertation defense committee at the Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Baghdad.
Khalifa noted that the student, Majid Hamid, focused his dissertation—titled “A Portfolio Model for Managing Iraqi Model Projects”—on developing a smart model to manage stalled administrative projects. The research aimed to create a mathematical program capable of identifying complex cases, fast-track projects, and high-quality service projects, ultimately generating a schedule tailored to each project’s specific status. This approach seeks to facilitate the smooth and appropriate completion of various projects, such as school construction, drinking water infrastructure, and road and bridge projects.
The defense was attended by the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul-Hassan Atiya Al-Zughaibi, while the committee was chaired by the President of the Middle Technical University, Professor Dr. Waddah Amer. Other attendees included the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Ghassan Hamid Abdul-Majid.
