The National Tree Planting Day activities were launched at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, under the supervision of the Dean of the Center, Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, and with the participation of the center’s faculty and staff. The tree planting activities included the planting of a number of perennial and seasonal trees and flowers, overseen by the center’s agricultural unit and coordinated with the Agricultural Division of the Administrative Affairs Department, which selected the required varieties.
The Dean emphasized that this event is of great importance in increasing green spaces at the university, as well as in learning the correct methods for planting and sustaining trees, which are among the goals of sustainable development in improving climate action.
