The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad held a workshop entitled “Negotiations as a Non-Judicial Means of Resolving Administrative Contract Disputes.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Lecturer Haider Adnan, Head of the Legal Department at the Center, and Assistant Lecturer Najwa Sadiq, and was attended by faculty members and staff.

The workshop aimed to introduce negotiation as a communication process between disputing parties to reach a mutually agreeable solution.

The workshop highlighted the objectives of negotiation, which lie in resolving disputes between parties without resorting to litigation, while preserving relationships among all parties, given the time and cost savings compared to litigation.

The workshop organizers reached a number of conclusions confirming that negotiation is an effective tool for resolving administrative contract disputes. They emphasized that successful negotiation requires strong communication and analytical skills, and stressed the importance of utilizing negotiation experts to achieve better results and encourage parties to negotiate to resolve disputes, regardless of the reasons.
