A delegation from the High Commission for Human Rights visited the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad. Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan and Dr. Inas Dhia, Head of the Human Rights Unit at the Center received the Commission. The visit, organized by the Commission’s Publications and Education Department, aimed to activate cooperation with the Center in disseminating and promoting a culture of human rights among the academic community, faculty, staff, and graduate students through a series of training and educational activities during 2026.

The planned activities with the Center include specialized courses in human rights, as well as programs on professional etiquette, economic, social, and cultural rights, workshops on drug-related crimes and their impact on individuals, and workshops on peaceful coexistence, rejecting hate speech and extremism, and other related topics.

This visit stems from the High Commission for Human Rights’ objectives as stipulated in its Law No. 53 of 2008, as amended, specifically Article 4/6, which mandates working to disseminate a culture of human rights through conferences, seminars, and artistic and social events.
