Course on Conducting Research Using Reliable and Authentic References
The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, as part of its Continuing Education Unit activities, held a training course entitled “Seeking Reliable and Reliable References for Urban and Regional Planning Research.” The course was presented by Dr. Abdul Wahab Ahmed Jameel, a faculty member at the Center and a member of the editorial board of the journal “Planning and Development.” The course aimed to enable researchers and postgraduate students to access reliable and accredited sources approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University of Baghdad, and to activate the Scopus database for University of Baghdad faculty and students.
During the two-day course, Dr. Jameel emphasized the importance of relying on scientific websites accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and avoiding other unaccredited sites. He also stressed the necessity of vetting journals and sources to avoid fraudulent, commercial, predatory, and other unreliable sources. Participants were provided with a list of the most prominent accredited websites.
