Thamer Khalaf Al-Sudani, a lecturer at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, participated in a symposium entitled “The Importance of Translation in Transferring Developmental Knowledge to Reduce Poverty in Societies,” organized by the House of Wisdom and attended by a select group of academics and translators.

Al-Sudani delivered a lecture at the symposium entitled “The Role of Translation in Investment and Enhancing Opportunities in the Labor Market.” The lecture aimed to introduce the process of translation as both a science and a creative endeavor, highlighting the proficiency in both languages ​​required. It also addressed the significant role translation can play in attracting investment and building investor confidence in societies that attract investment.

The lecture was divided into three main points: an introduction to translation, the role of translation in investment, and the importance of translation in creating job opportunities. In closing, Al-Sudani recommended empowering and training translation specialists to build qualified competencies that contribute to development. He also emphasized the need to focus on English language instruction in university programs to enable students to compete in the local and international job markets.
