The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad witnessed the discussion of a master’s thesis entitled ( The Fluidity of Interactive Spaces and City Community Building ) by the researcher Aseel Zaidan Khalaf, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Abdul Jalil.

The researcher discussed the weak focus of the effect of the properties of spatial structural and the density of presence and interaction of the movement system and its role in building the city community in the presence of unplanned and unstudied changes of land uses due to trespassing in favor of a specific use, which negatively affected social interaction.

The thesis aimed to build a knowledge base of the relationship between the density of presence, the spatial structure of interactive urban spaces represented by streets and squares, the relationship of uses and nature of urban space and the recipient, and the pursuit of smoothness and flexibility of movement in it in a manner commensurate with the importance of the region and the nature of its multiple activities.

The research ended with a set of conclusions, the most important of which is refuting the hypothesis of the perception of space through axial analysis and enhancing the perception of space through the analysis of density of presence and descriptive analysis.

It was recommended that transportation means should be improved towards sustainable transport, encouraging the practice of walking and public transport, and providing safety and security by separating the movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
