The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad participated in the annual campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education and the University Health Division, in a dialogue session to raise awareness of breast cancer under the slogan (Together we face the challenge and reduce the incidence of breast cancer), in implementation of the directives of the Women’s Affairs Division in the University Presidency, and within its annual campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer, presented by a number of female university lecturers.
The campaign was launched with research sessions resumed by the responsible administration of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Center for Continuing Education, Professor Dr. Suham Mutasher Al-Kaabi, with her research entitled (Breast Cancer in Women… A Psychological Perspective), while the second research paper was presented on the relationship between oral diseases and breast cancer in women, which was presented by the doctor in the University Health Division, Assistant Lecturer Fadhli Saadoun Jabbar.
Assistant Professor Fatima Khalil Ibrahim, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Urban and Regional Planning Center, presented a research paper entitled (The Role of Advertising Campaigns in Raising Women’s Awareness of Breast Cancer), in which she explained the role of the media in raising awareness of diseases and shedding light on them, and the necessity for health media to prepare awareness campaigns to identify the risks of contracting diseases and ways to prevent them. Khalil also distributed leaflets including free breast examination centers to the center’s members.
