Dr. Bushra Yaseen Holds a Workshop on Higher Education Students’ Discipline
The Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad held a workshop titled “Student Discipline Instructions for Students in Ministry of Higher Education Institutions.” The workshop was delivered by the head of the Ibn Sina Unit at the Center, Dr. Bushra Yassin Al-Dabbas, and attended by a group of faculty members, staff, and students. The workshop aimed to spread and maintain a culture of order and discipline in universities and institutes to ensure safety and security, provide a safe learning environment for students, and promote discipline and responsibility.
The workshop addressed several topics related to student responsibilities, including the basic obligations of each student, respect for beliefs, and national unity to preserve the institution’s reputation. It also highlighted disciplined student behavior, such as preserving public property, adhering to the uniform, avoiding all political and religious prohibitions, and avoiding political propaganda, blocs, and other forms of discrimination.
Al-Dabbas also discussed disciplinary sanctions, such as warnings, cautions, and penalties, and the mechanism for implementing them after a final decision is issued by the college or institute council or the dean, upon the recommendation of the relevant committee.
