The Center خب Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad hosted the discussion of a master’s thesis titled “Disparities in Social Services in Residential Complexes – Al-Mahmoudiya Study Area” by student Marwa Khalil Ibrahim, supervised by Professor Dr. Nada Muhammad Abd. The thesis aimed to identify the reality of educational and health services in residential complexes according to local standards, examine the extent of variation between complexes in the provision and spatial distribution of services, and assess the level of resident satisfaction with them.

The thesis concluded that adherence to local planning standards in the provision and distribution of educational, health, and recreational services contributes to the integration of the quality of social life within the community.

In her thesis, the student recommended the importance of adhering to local planning standards and improving geographical planning tools, focusing on sustainable and integrated planning while empowering the community, raising awareness of the application of precise spatial planning principles within residential complexes, and highlighting the need to leverage geographic information systems (GIS) and enhancing integration between educational, health, and recreational services.
