The Center of Urban and Regional Planning Center for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad organized a training course entitled (Principles of Translation: Urban and Regional Planning Curricula as a Model) delivered by the Center’s lecturer, Thamer Khalaf, in the presence of a number of the Center’s lecturers, employees, and students. The course aimed to present the most prominent general concepts of the translation process as a science that requires knowledge of both the languages ​​​​translating from and to. Khalaf emphasized in his course the importance of knowledge of all the rules of the language to be translated from and to, so that the translator is able to formulate the text in a correct and correct manner, free of errors. In addition, the translator must have sufficient culture in the field of the text to be translated, and the translator must review the text he wants to translate in order to ensure his ability to translate it after understanding what the writer wanted the original text to convey and feeling what he felt, while reminding him of specialization in the type of translation so that it is correct and free of errors based on accumulated experience in the field in which he is translating.
