The Continuing Education Unit at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Unit, held a workshop entitled “The Role of Sport in Women’s Lives”. The workshop, which was among the activities of Women’s Empowerment Unit, was delivered by captain Noor Fatehi Salim, Chairwoman of the Women’s Committee at the Sports Professions Syndicate.
She discussed the important role of sport in women’s lives, on their physical and psychological health, the challenges that women face in the field of sport, and the importance of achieving equality in the field of sport.
She shed the light on the importance of women going swimming because of its benefits on health and psychology in women’s lives. She also highlighted the challenges and obstacles which women face in the field of sports, and proposed solutions to them.
