The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad received a delegation from the Karbala Center for Studies and Research, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein. The delegation was welcomed by the Dean of the Center, Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan.

The two sides discussed their scientific relations and how to leverage them through joint conferences, seminars, and workshops, as well as the publication of scientific research, the exchange of expertise, and the delivery of lectures.

Dr. Alwan also provided a comprehensive overview of the Center, its work, and its outputs, which are relevant to the job market, especially as Iraq has embarked on a reconstruction and development journey based on global sustainability standards related to clean energy investment, emissions reduction, and the expansion of green spaces, among other initiatives.

In the same context, the Karbala Center delegation, headed by its Director, Abdul Amir Al-Quraishi, and his companions, expressed their readiness to cooperate with the Center for Urban and Regional Planning in various fields, particularly following the success of the ninth Arbaeen Pilgrimage Conference, which was hosted by the University of Baghdad at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein this year and saw broad academic participation.
