The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad held a memorial service for retired professor Dr. Muhammad Salih al-Quraishi, attended by the Dean of the Center, Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, and his assistant, as well as the Center’s faculty and staff. The family of the deceased attended the memorial service to share in the Center’s memory of their deceased colleague, who passed away due to a terminal illness. The Center’s deanship also recalled al-Quraishi’s contributions to the Center’s faculty and graduate students until his retirement. It is worth noting that the late al-Quraishi was a scholarly source, a reliable translator of foreign sources, and a mentor to students and researchers from both inside and outside the University. He also played a prominent educational role at the Center, owing to his academic vision that combined knowledge with its seekers.

The Dean of the Center, Dr. Alwan, presented the deceased’s family with a copy of the Holy Qur’an in honor of his soul. The family also donated his personal library to the Center, to be used as a reliable scholarly resource for students and researchers seeking knowledge.
