The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad held a meeting to discuss the criteria and indicators for developing the center’s curricula. The meeting aimed to address the needs of the local market, government stakeholders, and the mixed and private sectors in the country, and to work to raise the academic level to match that of international and regional universities, in line with the reality of learning and teaching. The meeting discussed curriculum development, including concise subject titles, following the approval of the curriculum development amendment by the relevant committee, taking into account the committee’s opinions and recommendations.

It is worth noting that the meeting emphasized the need to adopt core and secondary subjects, as well as subjects of a theoretical, applied, and practical nature, in light of the adoption of two semesters for graduate studies at the center. Academic outputs should contribute to building human capital in Iraq, providing state institutions and the labor market with planners at the local, urban, regional, and rural levels, keeping pace with scientific developments in planning.
