The Dean of the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, and the Chairman of the Committee for Preparing the Ninth Scientific Conference for the Arba’in Pilgrimage, Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, chaired the third preparatory meeting of the conference preparation committee via Meet platform with members of the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, and in the presence of members of the University of Baghdad Committee from the College of Science. The meeting aimed to study the proposed themes between Baghdad and Karbala in addition to those agreed upon.

The scientific conference topics for the Arba’in visit included several topics, most notably, the challenges of cybersecurity and adapting contemporary technology, the position of the ruling authorities on the Arbaeen visit, the importance of religious tourism and sustainable technology, the social, political and legal dimensions of the visit, as well as the axis of visit security on the cyber level.

Dr. Alwan confirmed in the meeting with the committee that the conference has become qualitative as it has religious outputs with scientific dimensions after proposing to update the quality of research by introducing the practical and applied aspect to ensure the participation of professors and researchers from various Iraqi universities and even from outside them in light of the participation of research in several languages ​​and then translating it and the possibility of entering it into Scopus, while the Baghdad Committee submitted a proposal to name a publishing house to facilitate the publication of research and prepare a scientific platform for the conference.

The Karbala Center presented to the University of Baghdad Committee a summary of the preparations for the conference, which will be held in 2025 in conjunction with the ceremonies of the holy Arba’in visit under the supervision of the mother university and with the participation of a number of Iraqi universities and others.

It is worth mentioning that it was agreed to name the conference slogan as (The Arba’in Pilgrimage: Truth in Faith and Sincerity in Action), as it combines the sciences of jurisprudence, faith, sociology, anthropology, psychology, and other sciences that establish cultural identity and national and ideological affiliation.
