The Continuing Education Unit and the Women's Affairs Unit at the Center for Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies, University of Baghdad, held a training course entitled "Managing Digital Change and Developing Strategies to Keep Pace with Technology." The course was presented by Ms. Lama Sabbar Zamel, Head of the Information Technology Unit at the Center, and Mr. Waleed Mohammed Taj, Assistant Head Programmer from the Computer Center. The Dean of the Center, faculty members, staff, and postgraduate students were in attendance.

The course aimed to clarify the benefits and advantages of digital transformation, its key drivers, and the challenges it faces. It highlighted the general approach to change management that enables organizations to navigate effectively, implement change policies, minimize disruption, and maximize employee engagement. The course emphasized the strong positive correlation between digital transformation and employee performance. It also reviewed the key benefits of digital transformation in the education, healthcare, and financial sectors. Furthermore, the course discussed the importance of understanding and managing digital change to build a digital culture that fosters performance improvement strategies. The importance of technology and its role in digital transformation were also explored. Finally, the course outlined the essential requirements for digital transformation, the reasons for its failure, and showcased key applications and companies that have contributed to its advancement by integrating modern technology into our lives.

The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad signed a scientific cooperation agreement with the College of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Duhok, in the presence of Professor Dr. Hussein Qasim, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department at the University of Baghdad.

The agreement aims to develop specialized urban planning staff to improve the conditions of cities and rural areas and raise the quality and efficiency of postgraduate studies conducted by both institutions. It also aims to develop teaching systems, tests, and examinations, and enhance teaching and learning methods by establishing a knowledge base that supports the development of student projects, theses, and dissertations, thus strengthening the scientific foundation of the center's faculty and researchers.

During the signing ceremony, held via Zoom, the Dean of the Center, Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, confirmed that the agreement will include joint conferences, seminars, and workshops, as well as the exchange of visits and expertise to build the institutional capacity of both parties. For her part, Professor Dr. Laila Mohammed Rasoul, Dean of the College of Urban Planning at the University of Duhok, expressed her desire to expand the scope of this agreement in the near future by conducting joint studies to improve urban planning and development in Iraq and globally. It is worth mentioning that the center seeks to conclude various scientific agreements with a number of academic bodies that serve the knowledge journey of the parent university and contribute to raising its ranking regionally and globally.
