The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad witnessed the discussion of a master’s thesis entitled (Quality of Social Life in Vertical Residential Complexes) by researcher Yasmine Fadel Abdel Rahman, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jamal Baqer Mutlaq.

The thesis aimed to show the differences in the quality of social life between the complexes of Hay Al-Salam and Al-Salihiya at the present time, in terms of evaluating and monitoring the good social aspects in order to adopt them in the development of the current residential complexes.

The problem of the research lied in the existence of a discrepancy in the quality of social life between those vertical complexes, and thus an attempt to improve the quality of social life in them after making a questionnaire that was distributed to the two complexes.

It was concluded that the Salhiya complex has an urban quality of life for its residents in terms of security and safety, as well as social relations and others.

After the researcher discussed her thesis, the committee approved granting her a master’s degree after making some changes to the thesis.
