The Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific workshop entitled “Green Education: A Future Trend in the Digital Age.” The workshop was delivered by Dr. Enas Diaa Hadi, a lecturer at the Center, in the presence of the Center’s deanship and postgraduate students.
The workshop aimed to create an effective educational community that believes in green digitization and is capable of dealing with it practically smoothly.
The workshop addressed several topics, including the concepts of green education, its tools, the stakeholders within green education, and the future vision of this concept.
The workshop concluded that environmental challenges require significant changes in curriculum design and how to implement them in educational institutions. This trend is reinforced by modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence and information technology, to address environmental problems, which encourages critical thinking.
It is worth noting that recent research has indicated that green education increases students’ awareness of the importance of sustainability and the impact of their decisions on the environment. Green education is a means of innovation and creativity, which encourages students to think of new solutions. Consequently, green education contributes to the formation of a generation capable of confronting environmental challenges.
