The Dean of the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, chaired a committee to discuss a master’s thesis at the College of Engineering Technology at Central Technical University, entitled (Spatial Analysis and Numerical Modeling of Traffic Noise in the City of Baghdad) by the student Zahraa Musir Nasser, majoring in Surveying Technology Engineering, Alwan confirmed that the thesis aimed to study the noise pollution associated with traffic in the city of Baghdad, as this problem is gradually worsening as a result of the lack of clear policies that limit this problem.

It is noteworthy that the student adopted modern methods to overcome the challenges facing the production of noise maps so that these maps are more reliable and produced in the shortest possible time. The results showed that the traffic noise levels measured in all squares, intersections and roads exceeded the permissible noise levels. This method has proven its worth in It is the fastest and most accurate among its counterparts in producing noise maps that decision makers adopt in setting future policies for noise resulting from traffic in the city.
