The Dean of the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies, Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan, accompanied by the Director of the National Center for Population and Demographic Studies, Dr. Nasr Shamil, participated in receiving the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Bahaa Ibrahim Ensaf, who officially opened the Center of Population Studies building.
Dr. Alwan, a member of the Council of the Center for Population Studies, confirmed that the visit highlighted the Center’s achievements and its work mechanism, as it coincides in a number of its scientific outputs with the Urban Planning Center, noting that the University President directed the necessity of providing a database related to the Center because it represents an information treasure for students and researchers in cooperation with relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Planning.
During his inspection of the center, Ensaf focused on promoting the Center by opening horizons of cooperation with the relevant ministries, praising the importance of the Center and its scientific status, in addition to being the only Center in Iraq for the specialized scientific services it provides related to solving population and housing problems and distributing them in a way that is compatible with the urban environment.
