Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled (The English Language: Challenges and Solutions) delivered by assistant teacher, Ammar Ghalib. The workshop aimed to shed light on the challenges and problems facing learners of the English language, such as shyness, fear, and reluctance to speak it, in addition to the lack of an environment that enables the English speaker to develop it through practice with others. Ghalib stressed that the problems of learning the language begin from school, as it is the basis for learning the basics of the language, preceded by the home and its social environment, which is clearly reflected in the labor market.
The workshop recommended the need to focus on the necessity of providing an appropriate environment to practice the language on the ground in a correct and continuous manner, away from traditional learning that is limited to reading and writing only, and keeping up with the learning methods of native language speakers.
