{"id":6170,"date":"2026-10-07T09:16:04","date_gmt":"2026-10-07T06:16:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.iurp.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=6170"},"modified":"2026-10-25T09:18:28","modified_gmt":"2026-10-25T06:18:28","slug":"workshop-on-women-and-environmental-and-urban-planning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.iurp.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=6170","title":{"rendered":"Workshop on Women and Environmental and Urban Planning"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000000;\">The Women\u2019s Affairs Unit at the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled &#8220;Empowering Women in the Field of Urban Environmental Planning.&#8221; The session was conducted by Assistant Professor Dr. Suad Jaber, a faculty member at the Center, and was attended by a number of academic staff and employees.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000000;\">The workshop aimed to enhance women\u2019s leadership and specialized skills, and to integrate their perspectives into the formulation and implementation of urban environmental planning policies. This contributes to achieving sustainable urban development and building resilient, eco-friendly cities. Furthermore, the workshop highlighted the pivotal role of women in urban environmental planning and equipped academic and professional personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to incorporate sustainability requirements into the design and development of urban environments.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000000;\">The workshop covered several key themes, including freedom of movement, safety-conscious design, and economic empowerment through neighborhood planning. It also addressed mechanisms for protecting public health in the context of climate resilience and urban disaster management, as well as the environmental upgrading of informal settlements and unplanned areas, and the promotion of local &#8220;green&#8221; jobs.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000000;\">Dr. Jaber concluded that empowering women and increasing their participation in urban environmental planning supports sustainable development, improves the quality of the urban environment, and raises awareness regarding the importance of resource conservation and enhancing the quality of life in cities. The workshop concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of enhancing women&#8217;s participation in urban environmental planning and supporting their role in environmental initiatives and programs, as well as raising awareness about the significance of environmental conservation and the achievement of sustainable urban development.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_gallery type=&#8221;flexslider_slide&#8221;
