The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad hosted the discussion of a master’s thesis entitled “Analysis of the Spatial Development Gap and Its Impact on Priorities for the Distribution of Investment Projects within the Framework of the Regional Development Program – A Case Study of Babil Governorate.” The thesis was presented by Ahmed Mohammed Naji, and supervised by Professor Dr. Kareem Hassan Alwan.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The thesis aimed to establish a cognitive framework for decision-makers to direct investments to the areas most in need of achieving spatial development in Babil Governorate. It also aimed to measure the development gap in the governorate and determine project priorities after arriving at a set of multiple indicators to develop several proposals for allocating allocations, thus achieving spatial and sectoral development.<\/span><\/h4>\n

In his thesis, the student emphasized the importance of adopting a multidimensional development approach to address the service gap in the governorate, seeking to increase financial allocations for the Regional Development Program, and rescheduling funding to ensure the continuity of projects. It also emphasized the priority given to stalled or faltering projects after revising the investment map for Babil, in coordination between local and central administrations. This, in turn, will achieve a fair spatial distribution of investment projects.<\/span><\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
