The Dean of the Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies, Professor Kareem Hassan Alwan, attended the scientific conference held by the Center for Women’s Studies entitled “Towards a National Strategy for Women’s Development in Accordance with National and Social Identity.” The conference was attended by the University President’s Assistant for Academic Affairs, Professor Suhail Najm Abdullah, and a group of academics, researchers, and representatives of state institutions and civil society organizations. Alwan emphasized that the conference addressed several themes, most notably the economic and political empowerment of women, the role of media and education, and the reconstruction of social discourse in support of women. It also featured scientific papers that reviewed local and international experiences and presented practical proposals for developing an Iraqi strategy that takes into account cultural, religious, and economic diversity.<\/span><\/h4>\n

It is worth noting that the conference emphasized the importance of integrating women’s issues into public policies and national development plans in an effective and systematic manner, following the activation of national legislation that supports women’s rights and monitoring their implementation on the ground, while enhancing women’s participation in decision-making positions at all political, administrative, and economic levels.<\/span><\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
