{"id":4214,"date":"2025-12-30T11:50:28","date_gmt":"2025-12-30T08:50:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.iurp.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=4214"},"modified":"2025-01-07T11:53:42","modified_gmt":"2025-01-07T08:53:42","slug":"master-thesis-discussion-on-urban-land-uses-of-baghdad-in-2030","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.iurp.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=4214","title":{"rendered":"Master Thesis Discussion on Urban Land Uses of Baghdad in 2030"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000000;\">The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad discussed a master thesis entitled (The impact of changing urban land uses on the proposed 2030 master plan for the city of Baghdad by adopting spatial techniques) by the student Ashar Hussein Hamad, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Jamal Baqir Mutlaq.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000000;\">The thesis aimed to identify the change in urban land uses and their instability between the design and implementation stages, and to analyze the reality of land uses in the proposed urban growth center until 2030 in the airport city, and to develop scenarios to accommodate the population in the remaining areas after the changes and new uses that have occurred. The student confirmed in her study that the continuation of official and unofficial changes that occur in land uses contrary to what was stated in the master plan causes an imbalance in the land uses of urban growth centers, especially the urban growth center (the study area of \u200b\u200bthe airport city), which is one of the most prominent proposals of the master plan prepared for the city of Baghdad until 2030, which hinders its implementation, as it is no longer able to accommodate the proposed population numbers due to these changes and the erosion of empty spaces in it.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px; color: #000000;\">The student recommended the necessity of distributing land uses in the city in a flexible manner that is consistent with the number of residents, densities, number of housing units and required jobs, and setting comprehensive details for the various projects in order to improve housing and fill the current deficit and future needs, and taking into consideration the distribution of land uses in the proposed urban growth centers for the city of Baghdad and their harmony with the urban fabric by adopting modern spatial techniques (GIS) and remote sensing in updating the basic plans for Baghdad and employing them in monitoring and controlling the planning of future projects while preserving the green areas surrounding Baghdad and recreational activities by stopping unwanted change for the safety of the environment and society.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_gallery type=&#8221;flexslider_slide&#8221;
