The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad discussed a master\u2019s thesis entitled (The Contemporary Vision in the Site Formation of the Urban Structure for Free Zones) by the student Rand Muhammad Hassan, and supervised by Dr. Adel Hassan.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The thesis addressed the lack of interest and\u00a0 knowledge in the relationship of site formation systems to the urban structure pattern and the specificity of the concept of free zones of a special locational character and distinction, which leads to poor planning and development utilization.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The aim of the research is to benefit from the possibilities offered by the formation processes which are provided by the spatial dimension of the site, in addition to forming an urban environment within the dimensions of future expansion to transform from static reality to targeted development in urban development processes, as well as to support the role of free zones in order to ensure the success of their originally approved work on location characteristics and other factors, and then developing a model for the regions to perform their strategic and planning roles.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The thesis concluded that there is a weakness in the level of formation, despite the excellent level of locational indicators in the region, which means not exploiting the locational privileges, leading to the failure to fully activate the role of the free zone, similar to the regional regions. Therefore, the researcher recommended the need to address the weak level of formation and complete the structure of a contemporary free zone.<\/span><\/h3>\n
