The Center of Urban and Regional Planning for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Baghdad discussed a master\u2019s thesis entitled (Evaluating Sustainability Standards in Housing Investment Projects) by student Marwa Taher Youssef, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Jamal Baqir Mutlak.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The research aimed to define a set of standards and indicators for sustainability design, contributing to the the status of residential investment complexes in the holy city of Najaf, after selecting two residential complexes: Al-Ghadeer Village Complex and the Princesses Complex.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The research adopted the descriptive analytical principle by building a knowledge base for the idea of sustainability and its connection to housing by using scientific statistical tools and methods based on the research hypothesis.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The research concluded that the relative coverage of excretion areas in both complexes does not match the standards of urban and rural housing in contemporary Iraq 2018, in addition to the lack of services that support pedestrian movement there<\/span><\/h3>\n

The researcher recommended the importance of obliging companies implementing residential investment projects to implement all uses in the residential area as planned and approved, and the necessity of providing infrastructure for public transportation before implementing residential projects, in addition to providing an effective security system for entry and exit from the residential complex with an adequate lighting system in all public areas, corridors and vehicle parking.<\/h3>\n
